Introducing Milinda Scott, owner of American Plate Glass, a family-owned and operated company located at 150 Pleasant Street in Claremont, NH. How did you start?
My late husband, Douglas Scott, worked as an employee for the previous owners for 8 years
prior to us taking the leap and purchasing the company from them. I left my 21 year career in
teaching to immerse myself into the glass industry.
What services do you offer?
Plate glass, mirrors, plexiglass, storefront, custom showers, replacement window, replacement
glass for vinyl windows, sliding glass doors, screens, putty glazing of old wooden sashes, and
replacement glass for heavy equipment.
When should should a customer reach out to you?
When they have broken glass in their homes or business, or when they would like to make
improvements and upgrades to what they currently have.
What is a common misconception in your field?
There is no such thing as a "standard" window size. Every window is a unique measurement
in most homes and requires a technician to come out and measure.
What is the best advice you would give to your customer?
Be patient with our office. Due to the nature of the business, many of our products must be
custom ordered to fit your space. This often means that some items are manufactured offsite
and then delivered to our location for installation. This process typically takes 2-3 weeks
depending on the manufacturer and our schedule, but we do our best to efficiently handle all
orders to ensure the best quality product for our customers.

Typically we are able to service any area within a 1 hour driving time of Claremont.
NH: Sullivan County, Upper Valley, Grafton County, Cheshire County

What is a fun fact about you?
I enjoy riding motorcycles, baking sugar cookies, going cruising and spending time with my
family.
What is your greatest success story?
Raising my two amazing daughters with my late husband.
I am also very proud of my ability to work seamlessly with family, and maintain loving
relationships with those people inside and outside of the work place. I am proud of my
ability to continue the business following my husband's untimely death, and bringing my son-in-law
and recently my eldest daughter into the fold to learn the business. We can truly call ourselves a family owned and operated company.
